I ♥ nicargua

The last few weeks have been a bit of a blur. We travelled through Honduras over two days after leaving Roatan so we could get to Nicaragua asap, and we love it here! It’s so cheap, it’s got amazing scenery, coastlines on the Pacific for surfing and the Caribbean for diving and the people are lovely. Having recovered from a painful civil war it’s by far the cheapest country in Central America and has so much to offer.

So far we’ve been volcano boarding (sorry there are no pics yet – Gaz forgot the camera so I’m waiting for someone to send some over) walked around the beautiful colonial cities of Leon and Granada, made it to a treehouse rave in the jungle on the full moon and have since got stuck in San Juan Del Sur, a surfing town in the south, not far from the boarder with Costa Rica.

Thanks to the awesome hostels in our various stop-points we’ve probably done a little too much partying and not enough of the old ‘self-development’. So we’ve made a pact that this week we will get some Spanish lessons, head to Ometepe (an island formed by two volcanoes in the middle of Lake Nicaragua, one of the world’s largest lakes) and refrain from drinking – that is of course until the weekend when we go to Costa Rica for Imperial Festival! Oh Yeah!

Moby, Bjork, DJ Shadow and one of my all time fav’s Thievery Corporation – roll on Friday! Now I can remember what it feels like to live for the weekend ;)
