The Gili Islands are an archipelago of three islands off the coast of Lombok in Indonesia. Gili T is the biggest and most developed of the three, with plenty of dive schools, restaurants, bars and parties. The emerald-green waters are filled with beautiful marine life, and when the surge is right, there’s a great little surf break off the south coast.
Gili Pearl Villa is set one street away from the main strip, offering tranquility, whilst still being within easy reach of the shops and restaurants. The open air market is a great place to eat, with plenty of colors and smells to really get your appetite going. It opens around 6pm and the buzz carries on right through until about 10 or 11pm. Head to the stall in the bottom right-hand corner for the best spicy BBQ tuna skewers you could ever imagine!
The villa provides the perfect refuge in between activities. You’ll be greeted by the local concierge, Andre, who will happily show you around and make tea or coffee upon arrival. The private pool area rolls seamlessly into the lounge providing plenty of room to relax and accommodate your family or group of friends. The three bedrooms all come with an en suite, flat screen TVs, extremely comfy mattresses and enough pillows to keep you in bed all week!
There’s a 50 inch flat screen TV in the lounge, complete with amp and sound system, perfect for chilling out and watching movies, or cranking up the tunes and entertaining friends. The kitchen facilities are quite small, but have everything you need to make lunchtime snacks and the American style fridge has plenty of room to keep your drinks ice-cold. Free breakfast is offered around the corner at a local restaurant, and we can safely say it’s the best breakfast we’ve had on the island!
We recommend you rent some bycycles and spend some time exploring the island, take a dip in the beautiful clear waters and if you have time hire a boat for the day and check out the neighbouring islands of Gili Meno and Gili Air. And if you like reggae, make sure you hit Sama Sama on a Thursday to see the live reggae band.
